Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided an antifoaming agent having an excellent antifoaming and foam inhibiting effect and stable viscosity in addition without increasing the viscosity even in a long term storage. SOLUTION: The antifoaming agent is prepared by dispersing a bisamide compound (A) and hydrophobic silica and/or silicone oil (B) in hydrocarbon oil, the bisamide compound is expressed by a general formula, R CONH-(CH2 )n - NHCOR (in the formula, each of R and R expresses a 12-20C alkyl group, both can be the same or different from each other and (n) expresses integers of 1-6) and is produced by adding the bisamide compound and a partially esterified compound of a copolymer made of α-olefin and maleic anhydride as a main component in the weight ratio of 1.5:1 to 50:1 to the hydrocarbon oil, after dissolving at a temp. above the m.p. of each of the components, cooling to deposit an α-type bisamide compound and then high-pressure-dispersing the bisamide compound with a pressure type homogenizer. |
