Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently treat waste by direct use of exhaust gas of high temperature of a melting furnace for incinerating and melting thermally decomposing solid material by supplying part of the exhaust gas of the furnace to a thermal decomposition furnace for thermally decomposing the waste. SOLUTION: In a melting furnace 4, gas generated by thermal decomposition to be exhausted from a thermal decomposition furnace 2 and thermal decomposition gas and the air of mixture of the exhaust gas of the melting furnace supplied to the furnace 2 are supplied, and organic material separated by a separator 2 of thermally decomposed solid material generated from the furnace 2 is burnt. Combustion air is supplied at three stages of air diffusers 11a, 11b, 11c. In this case, a CO densitometer 9 is installed at an exhaust gas tube 14 for supplying combustion exhaust gas from the furnace 4 to the furnace 2. Thus, the air flow rate of the diffuser 11a of a first stage is controlled so that CO concentration becomes 1000 ppm or more, and thus gas containing no oxygen of high temperature is preferably supplied to the furnace 2. Thus, waste be efficiently treated.
