Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composite material useful for decreasing the deposition of dental plaque on a dental material made of plastics by including a salt of an acid-functional polymer having univalent or polyvalent cation and preferably an inorganic glass. SOLUTION: This composite material is produced by incorporating a dental composite composition containing (A) an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable monomer composed mainly of a monofunctional to polyfunctional (meth)acrylate, (B) an initiator and optionally an activation agent, (C) a filler and (D) arbitrary additives such as pigment, X-ray masking additive, thixotropic assistant, plasticizer, etc., with (E) a salt of an acid-functional polymer having univalent or polyvalent cation (e.g. polymaleic acid sodium salt) and optionally an inorganic glass (e.g. hardened glass ionomer cement). The amount of the component E in the above composition is preferably 1-20 wt.%. |
