Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable enhancing rationality and also capable of reducing gap variations. SOLUTION: This device is a liquid crystal display device 20 in which a driving substrate 21 on the peripheral part of which a peripheral circuit part 6 is formed and a counter substrate 24 are overlapped with a sealing part 23 and a liquid crystal layer 25 is formed between them. On the driving substrate 21, a dummy layer 22 having the same height as that of the peripheral circuit part 6 is formed at the outer side of the peripheral circuit part 6. The sealing part 23 is provided by being made to straddle over the dummy layer 22 and the peripheral circuit part 6.
