Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermally processable image forming element having image forming layers which are substantially free from nonuniform coating (mottles) and have decreased belt mark defects by constituting the element by including the image forming layers contg. hydrophobic binders and specific boron compds. into this element. SOLUTION: This thermally processable image forming element includes the image forming layers contg. the hydrophobic binders and the boron compds. expressed by the formula. In the formula, R1 , R2 and R3 are selected from substd. or unsubstd. alkyl groups, aryl groups which may be the same or different. The thermally processable image forming element includes a base having the image forming layers thereon and may be formed as a photothermography element. This element is imagewise exposed to light and is then subjected to development by uniform heating of the element, by which images are formed. The element may otherwise be formed as the thermography element and the images are formed by imagewise heating the element.
