Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube capable of regularly displaying a normal image by reducing the stray emission in a control electrode to minimize the change with the lapse of time of convergence to electron beam. SOLUTION: This cathode-ray tube has a shadow mask having a panel part having a fluorescent screen coated to a face plate inner surface, a neck part having an electron gun housed therein, and a funnel part for connecting the panel part to the neck part, the shadow mask being arranged within the panel part, and a deflection yoke installed to the outside of the funnel part. The electron gun has three cathode electrodes arranged inline, a control electrodes 14, an accelerating electrode, a focusing electrode and an anode electrode which have electron beam passing holes 25 in position opposed to the three cathode electrodes, and are arranged in order from the three cathode electrode side. The control electrode 15 is formed by butt connecting two kind of metallic materials, and a stripe area 24 including the forming part of the three electron beam passing holes 25 is formed of a nonmagnetic metallic material.
