Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of coupling by making it secure to press a moving-side optical fiber of the optical switch in a fiber lead-in groove. SOLUTION: The optical switch equipped with a substrate having a fiber array member 3 which has fiber fixation grooves formed on its top surface and 1st optical fibers 2 fixed in the fiber fixation grooves respectively and fiber lead-in grooves 9 opposite the fiber fixation grooves of the fiber array member 3 and a carrying mechanism which carries one or more 2nd optical fibers 4 to the fiber lead-in grooves 9 is provided with a pressing member 11 which presses the 2nd optical fibers 4 against the fiber lead-in grooves 9 while leaving a gap between the 2nd optical fibers 3 and fiber lead-in grooves 9 at a slight distance from the tips of the 2nd optical fibers 4. |
