PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating org. sewage with the aerobic decomposition capacity enhanced by practically eliminating the wear of a carrier, charging the whole amt. of the necessary carrier at the start of operation, incubating a microorganism in the carrier bed while passing water through the device and repeatedly passing the water through the carrier bed. SOLUTION: Org. sewage is introduced into an aerobic treating tank 1. A reticular body 2 for blocking the passage of a carrier 3 is horizontally fitted in the tank 1 in a single stage or in multiple stages to vertically divide the inside of the tank 1 into several compartments. The floatable microorganism immobilizing carrier 3 is packed in each compartment, the water to be treated is passed through the carrier 3 bed in each compartment, air is diffused by a blower 5 from the bottom of the tank 1, the water is circulated in the tank 1 by a circulating pump 7, and the water is purified.
