Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing method for a sliding nozzle for casting molten steel which can efficiently produce a cast slab having a little defect while restraining the gas leakage during casting. SOLUTION: In a casting method of the molten steel for controlling the flowing-out quantity of the molten steel 11 with sliding operation of sliding plate 21 by arranging a sliding nozzle 15 having fixed plates 20, 22 and a sliding plate 21 forming-out hole 23 of the molten steel 11 to each on the bottom part of a molten steel vessel 12, a groove shaped gas seal part 25 surrounding the flowing-out hole 23 is provided on the sliding surface of the fixed plate 22 or the sliding plate 21 and sealing material 24 which melts at the using temp. of the sliding nozzle 15 is filled into the gas seal part 25.
