Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability and yield by using activated carbon fiber which contains polyvinylidene difluoride as a polarizable electrode. SOLUTION: An electric double layer capacitor is manufactured by, for example, providing a polarizable electrode, which is manufactured by punching out activated carbon fiber which contains polyvinylidene difluoride into a disc shape for a positive electrode, and a polarizable electrode for a negative electrode, inserting the electrodes into a case with a separator between the electrodes, and by filling the case with electrolytic solution. When the activated carbon fiber which contains polyvinylidene difluoride is used, the fibers of an activated carbon cloth or activated carbon felt are weakly bonded by polyvinylidene difluoride. Thus, generation of feather-like material is suppressed, a desired polarized electrode is processed and short-circuit due to the feather-like material can be prevented. Polyvinylidene difluoride is easily made into fiber and suppresses generation of the feather-like material by weakly bonding activated carbon fiber. Thus, workability and yield are improved and short-circuit of a capacitor is prevented. |
