Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely diagnose the fault of short-circuiting between adjacent terminal pins not only on a production stage but also after forwarding by reading the signal of another port in the state of sending out a test signal, and discriminating whether or not that signal is to be changed with the test signal. SOLUTION: Between mutually adjacent ports P1 and P2, the mode of one port P2 is switched to an output mode and while periodically changing the output logic of the port P2 in such a state, the prescribed test signal is sent out. The signal of the other port P1 is read in that state and while carefully considering its input logic, as a result, it is discriminated whether the input logic of the port P1 changes with the output logic of the port P2 or not. At normal time, the signal of the port P1 does not change or a signal at normal time is just provided but when the fault of short-circuiting is generated between the ports P1 and P2, the input logic of the port P1 is changed with the output logic of the port P2.
