Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle information supply system in which the management of information can be simplified while shortening the waiting time for acquiring information. SOLUTION: Base stations 3A, 3B have inherent regions Ea , Eb to be served and preserve the road map information on respective regions Ea , Eb to be served and other map information, e.g. gasoline station information in respective regions Ea , Eb to be served. A vehicle mounted unit 1 accesses a relay station 5 and request information. In this regard, current position of a host vehicle is included in the request signal. The relay station 5 specifies a base station including the current position in a region to be served and connects a line between the base station and the vehicle mounted unit 1. Preserved information is returned from the base station 3 back to the relay station 5 thence transferred to the vehicle mounted unit 1. Since the information is not managed centrally, management is facilitated. Furthermore, since only a small volume of information is preserved at the base station, waiting time for acquiring information is shortened.
