Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the opening of an intake throttle valve for an internal combustion engine at high accuracy by coping with variations of sensors and a change with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: The correlation between the elapsed time from the time when an intake throttle value is full opened and to the time when it is totally closed by valve closing energizing force and the opening is previously stored as the reference characteristic. The opening is changed from the full opening to the total closing in learning, and the correlation (sensor characteristic) between a detected signal of an opening sensor and the elapsed time is monitored. When the time from the full opening to the full closing in the reference characteristic is taken as tv0 , and time from the full opening to the total closing in the sensor characteristic is taken as ts0 , the time ts on the sensor characteristics is set to satisfy the expression: tv =ts .tv0 /ts0 and converted into tv on the reference characteristic, and the correlation between the detected signal and the opening is learnt by making the detected signal the time ts and the opening at the time tv corresponding to each other. |
