Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing a color convergence regardless of the meandering or oblique traveling of a recording sheet. SOLUTION: When a scheduled time to pass a recording sheet S on an edge detecting sensor SOSC reaches, an optical beam is emitted from a laser diode 31C, and the light receiving surface of the edge detecting sensor SOSC is exposed and scanned by the optical beam passing an optical path B1. When the recording sheet S is carried onto the edge detecting sensor SOSC at that time, half of the light receiving surface is laid in the state shielded by the carried recording sheet S, and its edge is detected. After the lapse of the time for a necessary blank to be provided on the recording sheet S on the basis of the edge of the recording sheet S, the optical beam emitted from the laser diode 31C is modulated and driven by the image data of C, and a photoreceptor drum 41C is exposed and scanned by the optical beam passing an optical path BO.
