Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance by mounting movably vertically one side surface of a printing unit on a chassis, supporting rotatably the other side thereof on a shaft provided on the chassis, and removing a printing unit from a support shaft through the agency of compression of the support shaft in the axial direction. SOLUTION: The apparatus is comprised of a chassis 11, a path 12 of thermosensitive paper formed on the chassis 11, a squarish printing unit 13 provided on the printing unit 13, a thermal head set on the conduit surface side of the printing unit 13, and like components. Herein, one side surface of the printing unit 13 is mounted movably vertically on the chassis 11, and the outer side surface of the printing unit 13 is axially supported on a support shaft 16 set on the chassis 11. Then, by virtue of compression of the support shaft 16 in the axial direction, the printing unit 13 is removed from the support shaft 16. Thus, the printing unit 13 can be removed with ease for achieving an easy maintenance.
