Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the obtaining of the subject high-purity compound in high yield without using a large excessive amount of hexamethyldisilazane by silylating a specific raw material with the hexamethyldisilazane and then reacting the unreacted raw material with a specific silylating agent. SOLUTION: (A) A compound represented by the formula (R is H or methyl; R' is a 1-4C alkyl) [e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate] is reacted with (B) hexamethyldisilazane at 25-110 deg.C temperature and the unreacted component A is then reacted with (C) a trimethylsilylating agent having a higher activity for the component A than that of the component B (e.g. trimethylsilyl chloride) preferably in the presence of (D) a base. The reaction is preferably carried out in the absence of a solvent by using the component C in an amount of 0.5-2.5mol based on 1.0mol unreacted component A. |
