Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning structure for head rest which can be produced inexpensive while minimizing the number of part items and can remarkably improve workability in assembly as well. SOLUTION: This structure is composed of a main body 1 of support for head rest, stay 10 to be inserted into an inserting hole 4 while forming plural positioning grooves 11 and positioning member 20 for positioning the head rest while being engaged at the prescribed position of any positioning groove on the stay so as to be disengaged, the positioning member is composed of a hook spring member 30 and a knob 21 for operation, the hook spring member 30 is integrally formed from a metal wire having spring property and provided with a slide part 31 to be fitted so as to be freely slid into a slide hole formed at a head part 2 of the main body of support, stay lock part 32 and elastic engage part 33 to be elastically engaged with the knob 21 and elastically energized so as to press the stay lock part 32 toward the positioning grooves of stay, and the stay is locked and unlocked by elastically deforming and recovering the elastic engage part.
