Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing structure of an electric motor which makes it possible to restrain the vibration of the electric motor rotating at high speed. SOLUTION: In an electric motor provided with a stator 12, a rotor 16 and bearings 22, 24 which, held with bearing housings 26, 28, support the rotating shaft 20 of the rotor 16, the bearings 22, 24 are each made up of an inner race 34 and an outer race 36 fixed to the rotating shaft 20 and ball bearings 38 provided in between these inner and outer races. Then, mounted on the outer race 36 are elastic ball bearing housings 40, on the outside of which metal pads 42 are fixed. By constituting the metal pads 42 in such a manner that its outside surfaces contact the inside circumferences of the bearing housings in a line or on a point, the displacement is made absorbable in the direction of the rotating shaft of the rotor or in the direction of the circumference.
