Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare the subject control agent containing a microorganism having high disease-controlling effects against the diseases of gramineous crops and especially effective for rice blast disease, rice sheath blight disease, and rice bacterial blight disease. SOLUTION: This control agent contains the body cells and/or metabolites of a microorganism belonging to the genus Chaetomium and having a control ability for the diseases of gramineous crops as an active ingredient. The microorganism is preferably at least one kind of strain selected from the group consisting of Chaetomium brasiliense JT-866, Chaetomium cochlioides JT-867, Chaetomium spirale JT-868, and Chaetomium globosum JT-869. The control agent can be sprayed on the gramineous crops. Thereby, high control effects can be obtained without affecting the growth of the useful plants.
