PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plate-like product or molding product, having a small changing ratio of thickness in water-absorbing state, excellent in strength, mois ture permeability and workability and useful for house interiors, etc., by attaching an amino resin and a curing agent to a specific fiber mat and subjecting the fiber mat to compression molding. SOLUTION: A defiberized palm fiber such as oil palm fiber is as necessary, mixed with a vegetable natural fiber such as linen fiber or bamboo fiber to form a fiber mat 2 and as necessary a woven or knitted fabric composed of vegetable natural fiber, a nonwoven fabric or, a sheet-like material 4 comprising thin sheet is arranged at least on one surface and/or in the interior of the fiber mat 2 and preferably 5-100wt.% (based on palm fiber) amino resin such as urea resin or melamine resin and a curing agent such as ammonium chloride are attached to the fiber mat and the fiber mat is subjected to compression molding to provide the objective plate-like product 3 or molding product having 0.35-0.6g/cm density. Furthermore, basis weight of the sheet-like material 4 is preferably 10-1,500g/cm .
