Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee the stable transportation of a rigid substrate and to prevent a coated surface from being stained or deteriorated by a method in which in an applicator for a rigid substrate which applies coating liquid on the lower surface of a rigid substrate of glass etc., a transfer rollers are held on a horizontal shaft perpendicular to the transportation direction of the plate, and a guide roller is fixed on a vertical shaft. SOLUTION: When the front end of a glass substrate 10 sent by transfer rollers 22... enters the clearance between a micro-rod bar 14 and a nip roller 20, or in the course of application, since the wire of the bar 14 is wound spirally, the substrate 10 can be vibrated slightly and horizontally by the frictional force between the bar 14 and the substrate 10. The guide rollers 32... supported by coil springs by a holder move forward/backward while contacting the side fringe of the substrate 10. Therefore, no excessive force is applied to the substrate 10 to solve problems in which the side fringe of the substrate 10 is scraped off by the guide roller 32, and produced glass powder is scattered around or stuck on the coated surface to deteriorate it. |
