Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline cell which can increase discharging capacity without impairing large current discharging performance while its internal resistance is kept low even when the carbon content in its positive pole mix is limited to the quantity less than 8% by mass. SOLUTION: This cell is formed out of a molded compact, which, as positive pole mix, secondary particles 22 composed of manganese oxide, carbon and alkaline solution are mixed with carbon particles 21 so as to be molded. The positive electrode mix as mentioned above is produced by a first process where the mixture of manganese deoxide, alkaline solution and carbon is compressed so as to be molded, and also by a second process where the compact thus obtained is ground, and carbon is added to the grinds thus obtained so as to be molded thereafter. |
