Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sparks which are made at the time of voltage application by changing the structure of a sealer in an electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: An electrolytic capacitor is comprised of a capacitor element 3, impregnated with an electrolytic solution and housed in an aluminum case 5. The opening of the aluminum case 5 is sealed by a sealer 4. Leads 2 are led out from lead-passing holes 6 of the sealer 4. Protrusions 7, shaped like belts, are provided between the lead-passing holes 6 and the rim of the sealer 4 on the side facing the capacitor element 3 to avoid sparks between lead round bars and the case, at the time of voltage application to the capacitor. A protrusion 8, shaped like a belt, is also provided between the anode lead-passing hole and the cathode lead-passing hole of the sealer 4 on the side facing the capacitor to avoid sparks between the anode lead round bar and the cathode lead round bar.
