Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide superior antifungal properties and mildewproofing properties while maintaining superior surface hardness, heat resistance and light resistance and maintain the continuity of effectiveness thereof by containing a liquid peroxide in at least a surface layer. SOLUTION: A melamine resin decorative sheet contains a liquid peroxide acting as an anti-fungus agent in at least a surface layer thereof. Normally, since the surface layer is a melamine resin impregnated decorative layer, it is good enough if the liquid peroxide is formulated into oly the resin in this decorative layer. In a case where there is an overlay paper, the liquid peroxide is formulated into only this layer or both this layer and the resin in the decorative layer. The liquid peroxide is added and melted into a melamine resin varnish obtained in a normal fashion. 0.1 to 0.8 parts by weight of the liquid peroxide is added into 100 parts by weight of melamine resin. Even with the added amount of less than 0.1 parts by weight of the liquid peroxide, the antifungal properties can be exhibited but the effectiveness thereof is small, and it is difficult to control it. With an added volume exceeding 0.8 parts by weight, the gel time of the varnish becomes short, and it is difficult to obtain stable coating and impregnation, thereby making it impossible to obtain a normal coated and impregnated paper. |
