Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out marking in all the shape steels with different shapes, to reduce a process time for intermittent operation, and to prevent deterioration in visibility due to an adherent object by fixing a marking device just below a passing face for a shape steel. SOLUTION: A marking device 21 is fixed just below a passing face (pass line) for a flat bar W, and marking (printing) can be carried out while feeding and positioning are carried out by means of a feeding material positioning device 19. Before marking is carried out in the flat bar W by means of the marking device 21, the flat bar W is fed by means of the feeding material positioning device 19, and the surface of the flat bar W is cleaned by means of an adherent object removing device 23 while the predetermined position for the flat bar W is positioned in the position for the adherent object removing device 23, and at the same time, an adherent object stuck on the surface of the flat bar W can be removed.
