Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of accurately calculating the diameter of a coil remaining on a pay-off reel, even on a line having a free loop. SOLUTION: When a calculated value D of a coil diameter is greater than the previous value DA-1 , and when it is much smaller than the value, an appropriate correction DH is not set to a value D calculated from the rotating speed N of a pay-off reel and the rotating speed V of a pinch roll but to the current value DA of the coil diameter (S5). The correction DH is calculated from a theoretical value Uα of the speed at which the coil is decreased, the sampling time (t) of arithmetic processing, and the previous value DA-1 of the coil diameter, irrespective of the rotating speed N of the pay-off reel. |
