Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rigidity of the connecting part of a manifold, to prevent leakage of exhaust gas from the connecting part of a manifold due to vibration, and further to reduce the thermal stress in a longitudinal direction due to vibration to provide an increased life, in a division type exhaust manifold having structure wherein the manifold is divided into a plurality of sections. SOLUTION: A division type exhaust manifold comprises a fit-in part 6 through which the outside diameter 5 of one manifold end part is slidably inserted in the inside diameter 4 of the other manifold end part; and a flexible pipe 3 to which the outer surface of manifold is securely connected. Further, a distance between the end faces of the manifold fit-in part 6 is set to a value slightly higher than a maximum value of a difference between thermal expansion and thermal shrinkage of exhaust manifolds 2 and 3.
