Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently introduce an insecticide into soil for the sufficient development of the insecticidal effect before planting a pot seedling in the soil with a vertically movable hopper-type planting claw. SOLUTION: This vegetable transplanter is provided with a vertically movable hopper-type planting claw 1 receiving a pot seedling from a seedling tray by upward motion and planting the pot seedling in soil by downward motion. A furrow opening plate 2 having a nearly U-shaped cross-section with an opened rear part and movable forward in the soil is suspended from the hopper-type planting claw 1 in front of a machine body. An insecticide ejection port 3 capable of scattering an insecticide into a soil pocket P formed by the forward motion of the furrow opening plate 2 is placed above the space between the furrow opening plate 2 and the hopper-type planting claw 1. A pot seedling is planted by thrusting the hopper-type planting claw 1 into the soil where the pocket P holding the insecticide is refilled with the soil.
