Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the amplitude properly independently of the magnitude of a video signal. SOLUTION: A synchronizing signal amplifier section 4 amplifies a synchronizing signal with a gain in response to a 1st control signal. A CPU 7 outputs a specified synchronizing signal. A comparator section 6 compares the maximum value of a synchronizing signal detected by a peak hold section 5 with a specified synchronizing signal outputted from a D/A converter 10. The CPU 7 obtains the correction amount of a gain by adjusting a 1st control signal so that the detected value and the specified value are equal to each other based on the comparison result of the comparator section 6. A 2nd control signal based on the correction value is outputted to a composite signal amplifier section 11 via a D/A converter section 9. Thus, how much the synchronizing signal is attenuated from the predetermined specified value is obtained and the obtained correction amount is used as it is as a correction amount of the video signal.
