Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the circuit scale by obtaining a data sector address by computation from a servo sector address by making use of the periodicity of the arrangement of a servo sector and a data sector on a cylinder. SOLUTION: Data sector information which is hard to be computed from a servo sector address (SSA) 25 is stored in a data sector information table 47. In conventional cases, it is required to prepare for the same number of piece of information as the number of servo sectors contained in one round of a track. However, in this case, the number of pieces of information is reduced by making use of the property of a boundary. That is to say, the arrangement pattern of a data sector and a servo sector inside one boundary is the same in any boundary. Consequently, it is sufficient to prepare by the same number of piece of information as the number of servo sectors contained inside the boundary.
