Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recognize a sentence translated from a first language to a second language independently of the faculty of speech by inputting a language level which specifies the sentence form of the second language and translating a sentence in the first language to a sentence in the second language of the sentence form corresponding to the inputted language level and presenting this translated sentence. SOLUTION: The original in the first language is read in from an input part 101. A system control part 102 stores sentence data of this inputted original in the first language in a sentence storage part 107. An editing part 103 displays the original on a display picture by a display part 106 based on sentence data stored in the sentence storage part 107 obtained through the system control part 102. The editing part 103 moves a cursor, which designates a sentence as the translation object, to the first sentence. Hereafter, the processing is executed in accordance with a command indicating execution of an event inputted from the input part 101. When the processing corresponding to the language level of the user is required, the language level is indicated, and translation is performed in this level.
