Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject excellent controlling agent containing an essential oil extracted from the seeds of a specific kind of vegetables as active ingredient. SOLUTION: This indoor Tarsonemidae-controlling agent contains, an essential oil extracted by steam distillation of carrot seeds. The essential oil may be used directly as this agent; however as active ingredient, in general, this agent is used as a preparation manufactured by mixing the active ingredient with a carrier, surfactant, coating film-forming agent, other relevant auxiliary, feed, etc., to form into an emulsion, hydrate, powder, granules, oil, aerosol, misting agent, non-heating fumigant, coating agent, poison bait, etc. Such a preparation contains, as active ingredient, normally 0.001-95wt.% of the essential oil. This controlling agent is used for the treatment of Tatami (rush mat), carpet, mattress, sofa, beddings such as Futon (Japanese style quilt and mattress) or pillows, closet, warehouse, etc., by means of sprinkling, spraying, coating, misting, transpiration by heating, placing, etc. The amount of the active ingredient to be applied is 10-5000mg/m of area to be treated, or 1-500mg/m of space to be treated.
