Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a message and to acquire a correct telephone number of a caller when a telephone set of a called party does not reply a call. SOLUTION: When an extension telephone set 12 connected to a private branch of an electronic exchange 11 dose not reply a call, the service equipment urges entry of a message and a caller telephone number in a dial tone to the caller through a guidance. A PB detector 34 detects a telephone number in a dial tone from the caller, a voice synthesizer 33 reads the telephone number to be informed to the caller as a return reply. The caller enters an acknowledge signal when the telephone number is correct and enters the telephone number again when not correct. A memory 35 stores the telephone number confirmed correct and informs the storage of a message from the caller and its telephone number to the extension telephone set 12 to allow to display them on its display section. Since the opportunity of confirmation and correction is provided, the called party can acquire the correct telephone number of the caller.
