Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a stabilized magnetic field and to control the movement of an oscillator with a high degree of accuracy in an oscillation absorbing device of a building by means of a linear motor moving the oscillator on a circular rail. SOLUTION: A permanent magnet 4 as a stator of a linear motor is provided on the side of a circular rail 3, and an oscillation absorbing device is so constituted that it is opposed to an electromagnetic coil 6 as a mover of the linear motor in the horizontal direction. The magnetic field from the permanent magnet 4 as the stator can realize the stabilized magnetic field without having any influence of curvature of the rail 3, and the movement of the mass of the oscillator can be controlled with a high degree of accuracy.
