Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to form easily a notch of a beam web 4 to mount a patch and enhance workability and even if a large load is provided from outside, prevent damage resultant from stress concentration without concentrating stress on a specific location. SOLUTION: A groove face 51, which is opposed to the edge of a diaphragm 2 of a steel pipe column 1, is formed on the edge of a beam flange 5 in an H section steel beam 3. A notched area 41, which is cut up to the groove face 51, is formed at a boarder with a beam web 4 in the beam flange 5 while a patch 6 having a web avoiding recessed groove 61 is fixedly mounted on the beam web side 4 of the beam flange 5. The space between the edge of the diaphragm 2 on the patch 6 and the groove face is fixed by welding.
