Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fine powdery cellulose capable of producing a suspension whose yield stress τy satisfies a specific relational equation, imparting a slurry, etc., with excellent shape retainability with a small amount of addition and increasing the strength of a gel or a forming, and useful for food, cosmetic, etc. SOLUTION: This suspension is prepared using water as a suspension medium and has a yield stress τy , satisfying the equation log τy >=4.8logC-3.5, preferably log τy >=4.8logC-2.5 [C is the concentration of the fine powder in a suspension whose yield stress is determined]. Further, the fine powdery cellulose is preferably a fine fibrous cellulose.
