Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape correcting device for a buff polishing body to shave the outer peripheral surface of the buff polishing body, containing quantities of rigid polishing grains with high efficiency and high precision. SOLUTION: A shape correcting device for a buff polishing body comprises a spindle 2 to support a buff polishing body 8; a motor 1 to rotate the spindle; a shape correcting grinding wheel 24 having an axis orthogonal to the axis of the spindle 2 and arranged in such a manner that the tip of a grinding grain layer is positioned facing the outer peripheral surface of the buff polishing body 8; and a motor 20 to rotate the shape correcting grinding wheel. The shape correcting grinding wheel 24 is moved at a constant speed in the direction of the axis of a spindle by a linear actuator 16, and also moved in an axial direction through a position regulating mechanism. The grinding grain layer is a metal bond grinding grain layer the tip of which is formed in a rectangular shape, and the outer peripheral surface thereof parallels an axis. The shape correcting device also comprises a bite holding tool 36 to movable in parallel to the spindle 2; and a cutting bite 38 fixed to the bite holding tool 36. |
