Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low power consumption liquid crystal display device of which a picture display range can optionally be set by a user without changing the brightness of a screen and power consumption of back light can be decreased and a driving time of a battery can be prolonged. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of defusing/polarizing plate 4 having a filter to uniform a brightness of whole screen, back lights 5a, 5b having different power consumptions arranged at the rear side or at the side of the defusing/ polarizing plate 4, and a changeover switch 6 for turning on the back lights.
