Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease diametric dimension and perform miniaturization by providing a core member on an axial line of a rotary shaft, in a rotary type electromagnetic actuator turning the rotary shaft by a magnetic field generated in the core member and a magnet, by providing the core member in a position opposed to the magnet. SOLUTION: A core member 17 is arranged so as to be opposed to a pair of sector magnets provided in one side of a rotary shaft. This core member 17 is constituted by a cylindrical core 18, bar-shaped core 23 and a plate-shaped core 27. In a bar-shaped part 24 of the bar-shaped core 23, forward/reverse rotational coils are wound. By inputting a current to each of these coils, in a sector cover part 21 of the cylindrical core 18 and a sector cover part 25 of the bar-shaped core 23, a magnetic field of different polarity is generated. A magnetic path sectional area of the core member 17 can be almost fixed by a shape of each member, magnetic field leakage is suppressed, and responsiveness of turning action of the rotary shaft can be enhanced.
