Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane for blood purification made of a polysulfone resin which is entirely free from the danger of elution of film components, is safe and is adequate for hemodialysis and blood filtration and a blood purifying device which is adequately usable as a hemodialyzer, hemodialysis filter and blood filter. SOLUTION: This hollow fiber membrane for blood purification made of the polysulfone resin has slit-like micropores of an average width of 0.02 to 0.15μm in the inside surface and the micropores of an average pore diameter of 0.1 to 1μm in the outside surface. The membrane internally has a spongy structure. The membrane has no macrocavities exceeding a diameter of 10μm in any of the inside surface, the outside surface and the inside. The water permeation rate of the membrane is 400 to 2,500ml/m .hr.mmHg and the permeation rate of total protein is <=1%.
