Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve test efficiency by simply matching a measuring part with the height of a test piece and selecting a load cell for measuring a hard test piece and a load cell for measuring a soft test piece on the basis of the hardness by a measuring needle. SOLUTION: The hardness of a test piece 7 is measured by the pressure sensor 13 provided above a belt conveyor 21a to be detected as a pressure signal and this signal is inputted to a computer to be processed. When the obtained processing signal is a signal of a hard test piece, the driver of a load cell 61 for testing the hard test piece is operated to arrange the load cell 61 at a test piece measuring position. Subsequently, the test piece 7 is supplied by a feeding member 91 on the belt conveyor and an optical sensor 10 is operated and a light source is moved downward to measure the height of the test piece 7 and the signal of the sensor 10 is operated by a computer to be sent to the load cell 61 and the measuring part of the load cell 61 is moved to the test start position of the test piece to perform a strength test.
