Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a feeling of slowness and blow-up of an engine at the time of acceleration by enlarging throttle opening by the predetermined quantity in the case of a predetermined lock-up condition being materialized, then reducing the throttle opening into its original state, and driving lock-up mechanism to obtain a complete lock-up state. SOLUTION: When an opening command signal for an electrically controlled throttle 48 is supplied upon the materialization of a lock-up condition to control throttle opening in such a way that throttle opening is gradually enlarged to the specified value and reduced again into its original state, turbine speed and engine speed come to have very close value at a certain point of time. At this time, when a lock-up command 46 is turned on, a lock-up control means 52 drives lock-up mechanism to shift into a complete lock-up state, so that the turbine speed and the engine speed coincide completely with each other. Since the vehicle speed is reduced to some extent at this time, the throttle opening is increased by the specified quantity to control in such a way that the vehicle speed is kept constant.
