Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface protecting film excellent in ultraviolet cutting off properties and thermal laminating properties by providing a coating layer based on an ultraviolet absorbing acrylic resin and a thermal adhesive resin on the surface of a plastic film. SOLUTION: This surface protecting film is obtained by providing a coating layer based on an ultraviolet absorbing acrylic resin and a thermal adhesive resin on one surface of a plastic film. As the plastic film, a polyolefine film, a polystyrene film or a composite of them is used. The layer based on the ultraviolet absorbing acrylic resin and the thermal adhesive resin is 50% by wt. of the coating layer or more. The ultraviolet absorbing acrylic resin is a copolymer resin of a reactive benzophenone compd. having ultraviolet absorbing capacity or a reactive benzotriazole compd. and an acrylic monomer having a polymerizable unsaturated group.
