Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the abnormality of a brush, a commutator, accurately by a simple method by pushing a vibration sensor against the brush or a brush holder for a DC machine during operation through an insulating rod, outputting the vibrating state as an electric signal and, comparing a low-frequency component in the electric signal with data measured beforehand. SOLUTION: The front end section of an insulating rod 14 for a vibration detecting tool 12 is pushed against a brush or a brush holder for a DC machine during operation, and the vibration acceleration is converted into an electric signal by an acceleration sensor 11 slidably mounted into the holder 15, and transmitted to a controller 13 through a cord 17. In the controller 13, a low-frequency component is extracted by a band-pass filter 25, rectified by a rectifier circuit 26, integrated for a specific time by an integrating circuit 27, displayed by a display circuit 28, and compared with a control reference value determined on the basis of data measured beforehand, and the abnormality of the brush is discriminated. Accordingly, the abnormality of the brush, a commutator, can be decided simply and accurately. |
