Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely distinguish and read a road and traffic jam information from a display picture by narrowing an interval between the road and a traffic jam information displaying line with reducing a scale so as to eliminate the overlapping of the other roads and the traffic jam information displaying line. SOLUTION: A prefecture road 4 is displayed by a single line and traffic jam information lines U and L are displayed both sides of it. In this case the traffic jam information lines U and L are displayed in red for a jamming place, in yellow for a congested place and in green for a place without jam and congestion. Then the interval between the traffic jam information lines U, L and a line showing the road caries according to its map scale. Namely corresponding to the scaling ratio, the smaller the scale is, the narrower the interval between the road and the traffic jam information lines U and L is made. For example, when both of them are separated by four dots on the picture from a line R4 in a road map when the scale is 1/10000 and separated two dots on the picture from the line R4 in a road map when the scale is 1/80000.
