Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to deodorize odorous components, such as cigarette smoke, in combination by forming a deodorant of a compd. having a primary amino group in the molecule and magnesium silicate-base clay ore. SOLUTION: The deodorant compsn. is composed of the compd. having the primary amino group in the molecule and the magnesium silicate-base clay ore. The deodorant fibers are formed by impregnating an aq. liquid contg. this compsn., a binder resin and further a crosslinking agent into fibers and heat treating the fibers. The compd. having the primary amino group in the molecule is preferably the compd. (amino compd.) having >=2 pieces of the primary amino groups in the molecule. For example, chitosan, etc., and polyethylene imine, etc., expressed by formula are used. In the formula, n, m denote the degrees of polymn. Zeolite, etc., are used as the magnesium silicate-base clay ore and the zeolite, etc., having a length of about <=10μm and aspect ratio of about <=100 are more preferable.
