Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the burst durability of a laminated pipe when a burst is generated in a layer which is not visible from the outside in a measuring method for the burst durability of the laminated pipe, which is suitable for measuring the burst durability of a brake hose for an automobile. SOLUTION: The burst durability of a brake hose 10 which is constituted of five layers, that is, an inner-pipe rubber layer 14, a lower string layer 16, an intermediate rubber layer 18, an upper string layer 20 and a shell rubber layer 22 is measured. The lower string layer 16 as a layer whose ratio contributing to the burst-resistant property of the brake hose 10 is largest and the inner- pipe rubber layer 14 which exists on its inner circumferential side are extracted so as to be used as an extracted body. A pressure is made to act on the inside of the extracted body, and the pressure is increased gradually while the extracted body is being observed visually. The pressure at a point of time when a burst is generated in the extracted body is regarded as the bursting pressure of the lower string layer 16. On the basis of the bursting pressure of the lower string layer 16, the burst durability of the brake hose 10 is found.
