Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the re-melting of toner on a printed paper sheet by providing a means for switching the carrying speed of a belt conveyor in a paper sheet discharging part based on a length between the folds of continuous paper. SOLUTION: The revolution number of a stepping motor 22 for driving a conveyor belt 17 is set to a predetermined value according to paper sheet length information from a paper sheet length detecting sensor 16. If the range of the lengths of paper sheets to be printed is set from Lmin to Lmax, assuming that the carrying speed of a conveyor belt 4 is S in which no toner sticking occurs and the aligning of paper sheets is good, since the carrying speed of the conveyor belt 4 is S.((Lmin+Lmax)/2)/Lx at the time of paper length L=Lx, the number of paper sheets placed on the conveyor belt within a fixed distance is 2.V.S/(Lmin+Lmax), and the number of paper sheets on the belt conveyor within the fixed distance is made constant irrespective of a paper sheet length L. Thus, re-melting of toner on the printed paper sheet is prevented and the level of aligning is improved.
