Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge paper so that various needs of users fir paper discharge may be met and reduce users' burden at the time of paper discharge. SOLUTION: It is discriminate whether data are inputted from an image scanner or the like through the second input terminal or not (136), and when the determinations is affirmative, a printing mode is made to be 'copying machine', a discharging mode is made to be 'sorter', and the offset amount of paper along the direction perpendicular to the discharge direction at the time of paper discharge is made to be the values corresponding to the above modes (140). When the determination of the step 136 is negative, it is discriminated whether the assignment of the discharging mode is 'sorter' of not. When the determination is affirmative, the printing mode is made to be 'printer', the discharging mode is made to be 'sorter', and the offset amount is made to be the values corresponding to the modes (142). When the determination is negative, the printing mode is made to be 'printer', the discharging mode is made 'mail box', and the offset amount is made to be the values corresponding to the modes (144), and the offset amount is made different for each mode, then discharging paper.
