Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the work efficiency by fitting a locking member of an underground pipe connecting coupling member for drawing an underground pipe from a lead-through tip into a burying hole while it is moved backward after piercing through the ground to the leading part in such a manner as to be freely changed to the stored attitude and the projecting attitude. SOLUTION: A locking member 2 is formed by a flat-plate like D-type pipe part 2a for locking a coupling member 4 for connecting an underground pipe 2 to a propulsion head H, and a handle part 2b for rotatably fitting the locking member 2 to the leading part 1. The locking member 2 is so constructed that in the stored state, the flat plate surface of a D-type pipe part 2a is exposed to the surface substantially along the inclined surface 1a and as the fitting part to the leading part 1 is provided in the forward end in the advancing direction, at the time of propulsion, it is subjected to earth pressure from the front and the upper surface to be kept in the stored state. The locking member 2 has the D type pipe part 2a projected in the advancing direction forward in the advancing direction of the leading part 1 in the projected state. In the case of drawing the underground pipe into the burying hole, the reaction force to the force of drawing the underground pipe 3 is applied from the underground pipe 3 side to the D type pipe part 2a to keep the projected state.
